In 1975, we collaborated with Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark on a project to develop osseointegration, starting the production of dental implant products for teeth replacement.

The knack for precision that got us started, now permeates everything we do. In strong collaboration with our customers, we drive progress and advance medical devices within dentistry, orthopedics and life science – helping more people every day, in more places, regain functional abilities that restore their quality of life.

By doubling the manufacturing space and investing heavily in high-tech equipment of the Memphis plant, Elos significantly increased its capacity to support customers in the global orthopedic market.

Following the increasing demand for injection-moulded plastic components Elos Medtech expands the production of Skara’s production plant by 1500 square meters to double the production capacity.

The acquisition of Onyx Medical complemented Elos’ range of services and strengthened the Group’s global footprint with facilities in Europe, Asia and the USA.

As a completion of the direction started 50 years before the executive board finalised the divestment of the metrology division, fully focussing on Medical Device and Medical Technology.

The acquisition of Microplast AB, company based in Sweden and specialized in injection-molding for medical technology products, complemented the precision-mechanics expertise in the Medical Technology business area.

To further clarify the focus on prevision MedTech the group embraces the name Elos Medtech with a split into 3 divisions: Dental, Orthopedics and Medical Device.

Expanding a cooperation with Novo Nordisk started in 1985 for the development and production of mechanical components, Elos signs a new agreement to participate in the creation of a new facility in Tianjin, China. Following this agreement, Elos Group establishes commercial operations in the Chinese market.

In May of the same year the new strategic intent of the Company is re-defined with a clear focus on Precision Technology applied to MedTech. The Company changed the name to Elos AB emphasizing this new direction.
